How to format using HTML on VCI
Here are some handy HTML codes that you can use to format your comment text on Vancouvercondo.info
First a primer. HTML codes are always written in between angle brackets (the first one looks like < and the end one is > ) The full code goes before the text you want to format, and then with a closing code at the end to stop the formatting. The closing code always consists of an forward slash before the code you’re using. This sounds more complicated than it actual is so lets look at what it actually looks like in use. A basic html code is the one used to make text bold and it’s simply a “B”. So if you write this: This text is bold It will display like this: This text is bold By changing that B to an I you change the format from bold to italic. So if you write this: This text is italic It will display like this: This text is italic Html codes aren’t always a single letter. To use the block quote format you actually use the tag “blockquote” (all one word). Here it is: So if you write this: This text is a quote It will display like this: Quote:This text is a quote To format a chunk of text as a link is slightly trickier (but only very slightly). A link always starts with “A HREF” and is followed by the link, with the tag wrapping the text you want to be clickable. The closing tag is simply forward slash “A” So if you write this: This text links to Vancouvercondo.info It will display like this: This text links to Vancouvercondo.info Hope that helps, happy commenting! ![]() |
